In Honor of the Their Son Gone Too Soon: Local Couple announces the Grand Opening of Michigan’s Equestrian Jewel - The Brighton Equestrian Club The Brighton Equestrian Club - Dedicated to making the world a better place.

Brighton, MI — Michigan natives Ray and Nancy Merlo lost their son Louie at the age of 16 in 2004. Nancy was devastated and admits it was a struggle getting back on her feet. The Brighton Equestrian Club is the gift that resulted from that tragic loss.
The Brighton Equestrian Club is a unique facility for the state of Michigan and is taking horseback riding to a new level by offering programs like Equine Therapy, Horse Yoga, Home School Social Groups and riding lessons for all ages.
“Our clubhouse offers an upscale equestrian lifestyle decor for small business groups looking for off-site meeting places outside the humdrum hotel conference room” says Merlo. “All our staff has been certified in Equine Assisted Learning so we can offer some really fun team-building and leadership exercises which can be surprisingly insightful of team dynamics.”
There is nothing quite like the Brighton Equestrian Club both design-wise and programming-wise in the entire state.
Located at 7318 Herbst Road in Brighton. For more information visit www.ClubBEC.com or call (810)772-7612.

And no, Equine Therapy is not for the horse. The Brighton Equestrian Club has teamed up with McCaskill Family Services in Brighton offering equine-assisted mental health therapy for people of all ages. The doctors have full access to the facility on Monday and Tuesdays and offer various group and private sessions that are often covered by medical insurance.
“But I’m most excited about our Pediatric Grief Group we have just put into the schedule; horses helping the broken hearts of children who may have lost a parent or a brother/sister. It doesn’t get any better than that” says Merlo.
